Free HIV/STD
Testing & Referral

Free, confidential, HIV rapid testing and referral to medical care, social services, high-impact prevention, and other supportive services

Free syphilis screening for high-risk populations

Services are provided in-house, at mobile sites, institutional settings, and through the Life Points program

PrEP
Clinical Services
Onsite Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) appointments for persons at-risk for HIV, including HIV/STD testing, physician visit and a prescription for PrEP Services include insurance enrollment, and linkage to other HIV prevention services.
Life Points Harm Reduction Outreach Program

Clean sterile syringes, condoms, cookers, cotton, bleach, and other risk reduction supplies

Wound care training and supplies

Rapid HIV testing, and referral services

Screening/testing for hepatitis C and syphilis and referrals for treatment

Overdose prevention education and training

Directed referrals to primary medical care and services to address basic needs

Onsite access to treatment for those who are ready

A mobile unit traveling to clients in their own neighborhoods, serving eight outreach sites in Detroit a total of 10 hours per week

Support Groups

Peer led psychosocial support group for HIV positive individuals, their family and their friends

Groups are held the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursday of each month from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Transportation and a healthy meal provided

Activities for children who attend the support group
Groups are held the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursday of each month from 5:30-8:30 p.m
Young adults and newly diagnosed are welcome on Thursdays.
Targeted Prevention Interventions

Many Men, Many Voices- a group level multi-session intervention targeting high-risk African American men who have sex with men

Community PROMISE- a community-wide intervention targeting high-risk young transgender women of color

CLEAR: Choosing Empowerment, Action, Results!
Early Intervention Services (EIS)

Helps those with positive HIV test results address immediate needs and remove barriers to care

Links clients to medical care supportive services and case management

Provides up to six months of assistance

Helps individuals who are HIV positive and out-of-care reconnect with primary care

Offers six week skill building and educational groups
Transportation

Takes HIV positive individuals to and from medical appointments

Facilitates access to primary care and other medical services

Case
Management

Case Managers help HIV positive clients throughout Southeastern Michigan obtain and maintain medical care

Assist clients to obtain legal, financial, housing and other services needed to help them remain in care

Kits &
Training

NARCAN Nasal Spray is used to temporarily reverse the effects of opioid medicines

We help train individuals to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the opioid overdose reversal drug NARCAN.
Please help as we strive to make a difference in the lives of some of our community’s neediest citizens

Every donation helps to make a difference

$500 can support 20 people affected by HIV and/or substance abuse with educational support services

$250 can provide 15 round-trip rides to life saving medical appointments

$100 can provide HIV-testing services to 25 high-risk individuals
